Review of [REC] (2007) by Brook K — 09 Oct 2010

Spanish horror flick that marries the reality film to the zombie but not really zombies genres. And a very successful marriage it is, high tension from the moment they enter the building, intense well-staged action, solid effects, gore but not over-the-top, and a real sense of hopelessness.

A few moments are kind of wasted toward the end trying to explain things (or set up a sequel) but then the ending really delivers to make up for it. Good times!
