Review of [REC]² (2009) by Lee ? — 25 Nov 2011

I kicked myself for waiting so long to watch this film, when it first came out I was just not in the mood for yet another infection/zombie type movie and with the whole handheld mockumentary style approach.

.. but this turned out to be a damn good flick!! It's a real nail-biter at times and does achieve a level of realism which made it all the more horrifying. Not as gory as I was expecting it to be though but the film is strong enough without it.

The shakey-cam stuff did get a little too much at points, especially when going up and down the stairs in the building. Well worth a watch though, great effort by the Spanish cast and crew and they provide an intense experience with one of the scariest finales in recent years.
