Review of [REC]² (2009) by Henry F — 07 May 2014

The camera's dodgy, the lighting's a bit off, the sound even goes at one point, and it's scary as hell. In my eyes, all of these imperfections makes the film scarier and a lot more realistic, something that other found footage films don't seem to understand.

It doesn't try to have any cinematic qualities, and that makes it one of the best, if not the best film of its kind... But, like the rest of its kind, it doesn't really have much to say other than 'BOO!', maybe if there was a point it was trying to make I would have been even more satisfied, and maybe if there wasn't such a poor choice of end credits music, I wouldn't have been totally taken out of the insane intensity that the film left behind.
