Review of Rebel Without a Cause (1955) by Stephanie — 09 Nov 2008
This is a wonderfull movie about teenage life and dealing with the confusion and angst of those years. It is also on of James Deans most well known movies. Although he only got to make three movies, this one was really well done.
There is no doubt that he went above and beyond in all three of them. But this was an exceptional appearance by Dean. James Dean was a brilliant actor. He was also a lost boy, loosing his mom at the age of 9, and was abandoned by his father following this tragic event.
He never completely recovered from this. Dean was a lot like his character, Jim Stark, who was also a lost boy, and rebel in society. It was a shame to loose soch a brilliant, and good looking, actor so young.
If only he had been a few minutes later leaving for his race, he would not have been in that fateful crash. R.I.P. James Dean!
