Review of Rear Window (1954) by Kenneth B — 21 Oct 2012
Brilliant, this is one of Hitchcock's most gripping films. He perfects confined setting style that he had previously put to use with Lifeboat, Rope and Dial M For Murder. It is shot beautifully and innovatively, the acting and the writing is spot on, as it needs to be when the film is set in such a way.
This is the first of Hitchcock's films that I would consider to be amongst the best ever made. Before Rear Window he made classics, this was his first masterpiece.
