Review of Rear Window (1954) by Vern H — 12 Jan 2013
Rear Window hasn't ages as gracefully as other Hitchcock classics, is noticeably tame and action-less, even for Hitchcock sometimes, and can drag a bit with some uneven pacing, it still is a very well made film with strong and charming performances from its leads, a unique and static execution, a good and sometimes witty screenplay, a nice dosage of suspense, smart and pragmatic cinematography, wonderful costumes for Grace Kelly, and of course expert plotting and direction from Hitchcock.
