Review of Rear Window (1954) by Paul R — 18 Apr 2013
James Stewart is a wheelchair bound photographer who spies on his neighbours from his apartment window and soon becomes convinced one of them has committed murder. This could well be my favourite Hitchcock film.
It's ultra tense, superbly scripted and completely consuming. Hitchcock put together an amazing set for this film and as the cameras pans across the scene from window to window you cannot help but be sucked completely into the story.
This film touches on the voyeur in all of us and is a triumph of film making. Certainly one of Hitchcock's crowning achievements.
