Review of Rear Window (1954) by Nicky S — 18 Jul 2014
Both are Hitchcocks, but Vertigo and Rear Windows are very different breeds of movies. While Vertigo is a dramatic suspense thriller filled with lush scenery of San Francisco, Rear Window entirely takes place in a man's two room apartment in a busy neighborhood.
This highly controlled film combines suspense with a good dose of light-hearted humor. Despite being all from a wheelchair ridden man's point of view, it's dramatic, and the acting is spectacular.
It's amazing on the director and cast's part that despite the scenery barely changing at all for two full hours, we never get bored. A clear five star classic.
