Review of Rear Window (1954) by Kyle C — 02 Aug 2014
The ultimate peeping-tom adventure.
Hitchcock created a good amount of suspense in this movie, especially near the end. I wouldn't say this movie threw you for a lot of loops. In fact, I would say this movie was extremely straight-forward and simple. It tells a mystery with only one suspect, so gee I wonder who it is?
That being said, this is a very well done movie. I liked the cinematography, which was very well-handled. I also liked the concept of showing paranoia within the mystery. And the end is filled with plenty of suspense. The only problem I have is that the story, like I mentioned, is a bit too predictable and the woman in particular had a very odd character change.
"You're crazy!".
2 seconds later.
"You are an absolute genius! He is totally the murderer!".
It was kind of weird shift, but overall this is still a very well put together story that tells its story well.
8/10 Amazing.
