Review of Rear Window (1954) by Tatsuhito K — 28 Nov 2014
The perfect thriller. Hitchcock's finest work as a director as well as an absolutely fabulous screenplay. The tension-laced chemistry between James Stewart and Grace Kelly is spectacular, and Hitchcock's ability to manipulate the audience's perspective is earth-shattering.
Its a movie that's themes of voyeurism gone awry and invasion of privacy may just be more timely now than when the film was initially released. This is a film for filmmakers while being a very entertaining mystery as well.
A masterpiece of great complexity and extreme skill from the greatest of all filmmakers.
