Review of Rear Window (1954) by Jon P — 03 Feb 2015
The Master of Suspense plays puppeteer with his moniker in this riveting mystery drama. In terms of plotting, players and revelations, Alfred Hitchcock knows exactly what he's doing, and exactly when to do it, reigning God over his gorgeously designed single set.
The film is almost a masterclass in writing, editing and cinematography and, despite the fact some scenes may not have aged well, it's an absolute must-see for anyone with the slightest interest in film. This is more than one of Hitchcock's finest, Rear Window is one of cinema's finest.
