Review of Reality Bites (1994) by Nate H — 31 Dec 2008
It wasn't that good, the dialogue was kinda ridiculous. Ben Stiller was decent, I think he's more likable than he is talented though. Winona Ryder isn't a very good actor. She's like overly emotive with her face, and her performance just seems to swing wildly from scene to scene.
The primary problem is she ends up with Ethan Hawke at the end which is obviously the wrong choice. I don't know whether it's me or whether it's a failure of the movie that I don't sympathize with her when she makes such wrong decisions.
She's too stupid to deserve happiness I think, considering how she continually blows it. She's pretty cute though, and does embody a nice little archetype I guess. I do love me some 90s.
