Review of Reality Bites (1994) by Sanna L — 05 Aug 2009
Not horrible, not great either.
I guess I'm too young to remember the early 90's but then again I'm too old to identify with the angst and confusion depicted in the film. Clearly this is a movie that has cleverly captivated the idea of being young and a bit lost in the early 90's.
I agree with others who have written that the so-called good (looking) guy palyed by Hawke was irritatingly slob, whereas the yuppie (Stiller) Lelaina (Ryder) dates is quite sympathetic, which probably wasn't intentional. Or maybe time has done it's trick here.
