Review of Reality Bites (1994) by Shane S — 22 Feb 2010
The only move that truly captures the generation X vibe. Winona Ryder at her best, Ethan Hawke in the role he was born to play, and Ben Stiller (his directorial debut, which most people don't realise) before he decided to do cheap, sell out comedy roles (plus a brilliant Janeane Garafoalo role).
A simply brilliant movie from start to finish that totally captures the Gen X era, the soundtrack is to die for, the casting brilliant and the delivery second to none! This is the movie that paved the way for flicks like Emprie Records, Singles and Slackers.
But the original shall remain the best!
