Review of Reality Bites (1994) by Scott J — 30 Sep 2010
This movie falls short on a few levels. It was supposed to speak for a generation, but it just wasn't realistic. Lelaina Pierce (Winona Ryder) is not a very good film maker, and it would have been a much more interesting and realistic movie if someone had told her so.
The affair with Ethan Hawke's character is predictable. Funnily enough, the work that Michael's (Ben Stiller) people do in New York turns Lelaina's documentary into what could be today's reality TV.
