Review of Real Steel (2011) by Aaron A — 05 Oct 2012
Real Steel reminds me of an Olympic high dive. The kind that wins the gold because it has only one perfectly done impressive move as opposed to others that are more dizzying.
It is basically an underdog story with the twist being that it has the ability to make you feel like a kid (the kind that loved cool stuff like boxing robots).
While it doesn't take any chances (assuming that boxing robots isn't too much of a stretch) it satisfies the corollary of not disappointing.
In summation: neat concept, feel good formula, simple writing, great visuals, solid and reputable acting/actors.
