Review of Real Genius (1985) by D. Aaron S — 30 Sep 2007
I finally just saw this movie, and it...RULES! Another 80's classic, directed by Martha Coolidge, who also directed 1983's Valley Girl (the star of that film, Deborah Foreman-a major babe, also shows up here in a two-scene cameo).
Easily Val Kilmer's best role. Pretty much a different version of Revenge of the Nerds, yet the nerds here aren't entirely cliche nerds; Val Kilmer for example is the "cool" nerd. Has an awesome ending where they have a laser targeted at their evil professor's house, and a humongous bag of popcorn inside, which quickly has the house literally overflowing with popcorn.
Seriously, this movie rules. I waited too long to see this one, me being the so-called 80s fan that I am...
