Review of Ready to Rumble (2000) by Fraser M — 18 Oct 2011

Either I really am an imbecile or Ready to Rumble has received a far harsher reception than it deserves, because personally, I find this film to be an hilarious albeit flawed comic outing. The ingredients are all there: two well-meaning but flawed underdogs aspiring to greatness go on a road-trip, find love and encounter all manner of quirky characters while ending up in ridiculous scenarios most of which include toilet gags.

Sure it's dumb, but it never tries to be anything other than mild entertainment. Throw in a solid cast of charming actors and bam, this film just pinned me down with a pile-driver of laughter.
