Review of Ready Player One (2018) by Kevin%20 H — 15 Apr 2018

This movie had some pretty decent animation... I guess, but the dialogue and script was extremely unbearable to witness for 2 hours straight. This movie is a cliche high school love story... BUT GET THIS, its set... in the FUTURE. In a movie with a lack of character development and terrible writing, we are also lucky enough to have "hilarious" callbacks and references. I don't even know where to start. The main character guy (i don't even remember his name) was probably the worse actor in the movie. His video game lover (Idk her name either) is an ok actress.... I guess, but even then they made her character not match up with the actress at all. When she said "you wouldn't like me in the real world", one would think it would be some fat, acne-filled or at least somewhat unattractive human being. But it turns out, its just some hot girl with an unrealistic birthmark on her face. The romance was uninspiring, it wasn't funny and it looked like shit. The funniest part of this movie was probably when the guy beat up the kid because he called him a "noob", and "lost him gamer points". I wanna say that people cared about this movie, but I really don't think anybody gave a shit and just realized they could just throw popular characters into their trailer. It's hard to believe Spielberg can go from making "Schindler's List" in the 90's to this piece of garbage. All this "Nostalgia" is ruined by bad animation, acting and writing. Just because a movie has references of things I actually like, doesn't make me like this movie at all, it just shows how lazy and desperate the writers of this movie were. Thanks for making another live action version of a cartoon Hollywood, those are always promising!

Rating: 2/10.

P.S.: "Oh fuck it's Chucky" was the worst part of thus movie, nobody laughed in my theator.
