When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune. Despite some changes from the novel, the story is still engaging, but the biggest appeal is its many Easter eggs and references from pop culture, including a perfect retro pop soundtrack.
There are some annoying plot questions and the nostalgia is naff but it is gloriously so.
