Review of Ready Player One (2018) by Peabarter — 31 Mar 2018

I enjoyed this movie for what it is was, a CGI filled extravaganza that gives homage to movies and games alike. The CGI world was entertaining and packed full of great visuals. The only thing that bothered me was the difficulty in connecting with the virtual avatars of the main characters.

Their human counterparts show up a bit late in the movie. Go see this at a true 70 mm IMAX theater if you can which is what I did. It adds so much to the experience. I got home and felt so nostalgic for Spielberg, who has been entertaining me since I saw Jaws in the theaters, that my son and I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark.
