Review of Ready Player One (2018) by Thedaywalker — 29 Mar 2018
This is a really special movie. It feels more like a metaphor to a gamers life, how addicted gamers really lose touch with reality, and when they die it's like they lost "everything". It's visually stunning, making you feel like you're in an actual game, and also makes you think you're in one with the way the story flows.
The story was great touching other topics as 'don't trust everyone you meet online', with the character Aech showing first hand how that can happen.
But there's a small issue, it looks really good with a great telling story, but the characters seem really undeveloped, the real only development we get is from the two main characters and a very weak villain (character wise) who just wants the money. From some other characters we only get their real names and real appearances and they leave it at that.
I also really liked the characters they added, the search for them made my movie experience way more fun.
