Review of Ready Player One (2018) by Moviemitch96 — 28 Mar 2018
I first want to start off by saying that I had no idea this was based off a book until after I got home from seeing this and read some other users' reviews on this, many of whom had read the book claimed that this film wasn't as good as the book.
Having never read it, I must say that I really enjoyed this for the most part and all of its numerous little hints, winks, references, etc. to countless other films, games, pop culture icons and phenomenons, etc.
It did however become somewhat predictable and ridiculous at times, but the overall amount of fun I had with this film made up for that for the most part. Overall, it's got so many fun little details and moments packed into it that you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn't find at least a little bit of fun and enjoyment in this colorful and zany nostalgia trip.
