Look, it's a film that just doesn't exist otherwise. It's the Super Smash Brothers of film. It has so many references, so many images, so many characters, that almost no other film could even conceive of it.
Sure, it's not the best adaptation of the book, but it does a lot of things really well, particularly the changes so that people who read the book would still be entertained.
