Review of Reach for the Sky (1956) by Paul D — 09 Jun 2008
A great war film about a truly inspirational man. Kenneth More does an excellent turn as Douglas Bader, a true illustration of the indomitable British spirit if ever there was one. Not even the loss of both of his legs could dent his determination to fly again and while a POW the Germans had to take his legs away to prevent his repeated escape attempts! Not the most accurate portrayal granted, and not a patch on the book which is amazing but a great film none the less.
