Review of RBG (2018) by Matthew D — 02 Sep 2018
A thoroughly informative and enjoyable documentary.
RBG is not exactly innovative in any way as a documentary, but it accomplishes the single most important aspect for any documentary: to inform. The wealth of information about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg is wonderful. There is the biopic elements about her life, her marriage, and her rulings. There are nice little perspective interviews from her husband, family, friends, colleagues, experts, and even Ginsberg herself! All the information is delivered in such a way that we learn more about the woman and her policies. RBG is a highly informative and entertaining documentary that is well worth your time.
Documentaries are often too long, bloated, or uninformative. RBG is short enough to digest all its data, fast paced enough to hold your attention, and well made to keep your interested in the subject matter. Whether you know about the law or history, you will surely still follow RBG's narrative due to its tight structure. I am sure any audience member will learn a great deal from RBG.
Overall, watch this documentary for bits about Ginsberg's life and career. I think she is an inspiring figure well worthy and deserving of a commemoration such as this satisfying documentary. Her endless work has changed America forever for the better. She has given women and the general public more rights than they will ever appreciate. I hope that RBG will give viewers a better understanding of Ginsberg, the law, their rights, and Ginsberg's impact. At the very least, you will have a good time watching this important documentary.
