Review of Raze (2013) by Elad A — 14 Jan 2014
~*spoilers ahead!*~.
Ok, first off - Rachel Nichols was only in the movie for like 2 minutes before brutally getting her face mashed into her brains by Zoë Bell. Now I get WHY they used Rachel's name to advertise the movie (she's the better known actress of the bunch, other then allegedly Rosario Dawson, who's credited but I didn't even see), but it's REALLY annoying that you advertise a movie based on a character that dies in the first five minutes, doubly so when it's Rachel Nichols. Just saying.
Besides of that, the movie wasn't even very good. You can tell how low-budgeted it is to the point where it almost makes you cringe, the characters are mostly really shallow and one-dimensional (though you'd expect that from a fight flick), and it's all around just boring.
The only redeeming part was the very last segment of the film, which also abruptly and annoyingly ended without really having a point in the end.
Now I love Zoë Bell! She's totally bad-ass and awesome and has done so many awesome things, starting with being Lucy Lawless' stunt double in Xena and going on to many - many - MANY incredible things, but I really did not enjoy the movie - not one bit. It was just pointless in the end, and pretty badly written.
Sorry Zoë.
