Review of Raze (2013) by Bruno V — 28 Feb 2016
How many more do I have to kill?
A group of women find themselves kidnapped and in a prison of sorts. Upon request they are forced to fight to the death under the threat of their loved ones being killed if they do not fight. The women hope to plan their escape, but they find that goal difficult between the fights, injuries, and security.
"I'm fighting for my daughter.".
Josh Waller, director of Camino, McCanick, and the upcoming I'm from the Future, delivers Raze. The storyline for this was fairly interesting and worth following. There were some unique elements and some great gore. The action was solid as was the acting. The cast includes Zoe Bell, Rachel Nichols, Tracie Thoms, Bruce Thomas, and Doug Jones.
"She tried to chew her way through her obligations.".
This was recently added to Netflix so I decided to add it to the wish list. This is a new age grindhouse picture with some sexploitation aspects. The story isn't terrible and I enjoyed watching it play out. I recommend seeing this once.
"We need a better plan than the impossible.".
Grade: C+.
