Jamie Foxx did a terrific job here and as good as the film is it has one massive flaw: all these biopics follow the same plot: born in hardship, leaves hardship for the bright lights of the city, becomes famous, fame overwhelms bringing in drugs or similiar, marriage suffers, kids are neglected, breaks down, pulls self back together, dies a star.
Dragon, Walk The Line, Ray - to name but a few.
