Review of Ray (2004) by Aaron K — 31 Aug 2014
A biopic relies on right portrayals and great acting. In order to succeed the portrayal of Ray Charles, a blind musician named one of the best entertainers, Jamie Foxx have to keep his eyes close throughout the 2.5-hour long film. His successful performance resulted to be stunning and the best of his career for doing such challenge (hence his win for Best Actor).
Jamie Foxx is the main attraction/spotlight and the center of the enjoyment of the film, despite some moments of Ray's life that was hard and unappealing to watch (there was even predictability on how he was sometime treated when he was blind). (A-).
