Review of Ravenous (1999) by Cody H — 25 Aug 2007
So I happened to pick up this DVD by luck because it came with my new Pathfinder dvd and when I seen this I coulndt resist. I have seen this movie more than a few years back and could only remember that I enjoyed it very much.
Now after rewatching and taking notice to the films entirety and how it plays,i can say that for one thing, it is very underrated. I dont see why this movie doesnt have a cult following...yet. Everything is here,it is really a funny movie but it doesnt try to be.
The blood and gore flows freely and may not be for the faint hearted. Cannabilism has never been this enjoyable. The cast is just magnificent. Guy Pearce proves again that he is one of films most underrated actors and Robert Carlyle crazy character goes down as one of the most rememerable villians in film, yup, right up there with Darth Vader.
This movie should be watched if you enjoy the occasional cannabilism or perhaps just wanna catch up on a good movie. I guess a a good tagline would be "A Disturbingly Funny Cannibalistic good time".
