Review of Ravenous (1999) by Joshua M — 07 Sep 2008
This is a damned fun film. It explores the great depths of cannibalism that others dare not speak nor tell story of (unless it in some way corresponds to the greatest story ever told). This is cannibalism at its pseudo finest.
So it may not be a life in its truest form, but as a practicing cannibal, I sometimes feel these urges and glimmers of empowerment/strength from the taste of another's living (or recently departed) blood dripping down my throat and the fine warm, sponge-like, texture only from that of the finest, most fresh cuts of human flesh.
This is the movie for the cannibal folks who have felt that urge. If you don't fit into that category but read the synopsis and think to yourself, "that sounds kind of interesting!" and the sense you carry of the humor sort could be somewhat cosidered a bit "off", watch the goddamn film already, pussy.
