Review of Ravenous (1999) by Darryn N — 08 Aug 2011
Antonia Bird crafts a strange tale of frontier ship and survival. Solid acting by all involved with Pearce and Carlyle perfectly balancing one another. Subversive in its choice of presentation, this film counters/challenges the multitude of heroic themed films that present frontiersmen as indestructibly noble.
This well made movie explores what it truly takes to survive both mentally and physically when nature provides you with few options.
