Review of Ravenous (1999) by Philipblake — 13 Sep 2019
Ravenous is an instant classic! Kinda crazy horror adventure cannibalistic survival western with a damn awesome sens of criticism on the actual capitalist society. Story is just awesome as the actor was, Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle was almost unforgettable as the leads, with a special mention to Neal McDonough for his crazy soldier part.
The original score is damn addictive and one of the most original score ever, Michael Nyman and Damon Albarn have totally captured the essence of the story. The tense and suspense are mind-blowing and of course the gore sequence was funny as hell.
Cinematography is also really beautiful and have a natural chemistry with the superb production design. Can't believe the poor rating around this masterpiece, critics have to return watching films for the simple-minded they are, I strongly suggest films on their level as 2 Fast 2 Furious or Transformers.
