Review of Rats: Night of Terror (1984) by Jason D — 21 Jul 2008
The absolute pinnacle of horrible movies that are unintentional comedies. There are several reasons the film is unintentionally funny, but the biggest is due to the audio. The film is dubbed over, and the dubbing is very.
...unique to say the least. All the characters sound like cartoon characters and say some of the funniest things I've ever heard. When a computer isn't working, one guy shouts, in his ridiculously dubbed voice, "Stupid machine needs a kick in the balls!".
But the outrageous quotes and horrible dubbing are just the beginning. The "killer rats" in this film never attack or harm anyone. It just shows them gathered and eating food, yet everyone starts screaming hysterically.
Several times during the film, its very obvious that someone with a bucket full of rats is just dumping them on top of people. Despite all of this, the ending to the film is actually quite good and even shocking! If you think this stuff sounds funny, watch it because it will make you cry from laughter.
Otherwise skip it.
