Review of Ratchet & Clank (2016) by Brandon L — 28 Apr 2016
Saw this last night at an early screening and had a great time!
It's not Pixar-level stuff, but it is quite good. Fans of the game series are going to absolutely love it. It's hard for me to say how non-fans would react, though I think the general reaction will be "Who? What movie?".
If your kids like science fiction, they'll get a kick out of this wacky adventure, whether they've played the game or not.
Family-friendly. R&C often uses double entendre jokes in its titles (as in the tagline) but there's not much of that in the movie at all. There is a lot of action and peril, but it's cartoon-ish. Example, an alien gets shot with a blaster and blinks through ashes - he isn't killed.
At a minimum, it's a good matinee. You should certainly see this on Blu Ray, but the big screen and big sound are not wasted here.
