Review of Ratchet & Clank (2016) by Luke F — 29 Apr 2016

20% Tomatometer!!!! That's far too low. It is a solid film that doesn't do anything badly. It stays true to the source material and made me laugh on multiple occasions. Yes it could have had more action sequences showcasing the weapons and gadgets from the games, yes it could have had more adult centered humour but it was still a great movie.

There were lots of great references that both gamers and non-gamers would get (my favourite being the Ferris Bueller's Day Off poster). It's not perfect by any means but when compared to other video game movies it's one of the best and is a great family film regardless.

I went and saw it with my friend who had never heard of Ratchet & Clank before seeing this film and he came out wanting to play the game; surely that means the film did it's job?
