Review of Ratchet & Clank (2016) by Jacob F — 28 Mar 2017
Charming, cute, fun. Yep. That's what it is. I've not been a fan since the beginning (2002), but I have known the series long enough to say that, ultimately, I disliked this. The movie itself was fine. It was, as previously stated, cute. But the change in the characters was unappealing. Gone is the original duo. Ratchet is less a mechanic with his open goals and is now the generic wannabe hero we see so much of these days. Clank seems minor and is no longer has the place as an impulsive Ratchet's voice of reason. I was looking forward to the emotional tension between the duo like had been shown in the original, but I found myself disappointed.
Then again, I'm probably just another salty fan.
