Review of Ratchet & Clank (2016) by Tbm — 14 Jan 2017
Better than the critics make it out to be and probably the best video game film to date.
Faithful to the game series and expanding upon it, great animation and look to it. Story may be rather basic, but for its target audience it works perfectly fine. After being a fan of the games, I would've wanted to see Kevin Michael Richardson back as Drek, there was no reason not to (but they had to draw in an audience someway, so that's why Giamatti is there.).
Above all, this film is FUN. Great jokes and references to the games (that classic Playstation start-up sound, come on) and just great sillyness to get lost in for a couple of hours.
