Review of Ratchet & Clank (2016) by Matthew G — 28 Apr 2016
It's a harmless and fun adventure. It brings nothing new to the table, but kids and fans of the series will get a kick out of it.
While this movie may hit all the same marks we've seen time and time again, they're not executed poorly. The actors know how to give the characters life and ensure that all the jokes will get a laugh. Yes they're corny, yes we've heard them all, but the way they're presented in this flick is worth it. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea though. Not only are the jokes generic, but the plot too.
We've heard it again and again, the young underdog hero with big dreams conveniently finds a way to make those big dreams real immediately after lamenting that those big dreams will never be real. Though it may be completely generic from its story, to it's animation, and even its characters, it's still harmless and will be a bag of fun for the kids.
