Review of Ratchet & Clank (2016) by Movie M — 09 Sep 2016
First off, I've never played any of the "Ratchet and Clank" video games, or at least never owned them. So going into this movie I had no backstory of the characters, and I didn't know how the movie would play out.
So I have to say as a movie standpoint, "Ratchet and Clank" was a mess. I honestly have no idea why they had to make this movie, it felt like I was watching an hour and a half long episode of a crappy episode of a 2006 cartoon show.
Seriously, this movie did nothing right, it was extremely boring, I don't think there was one thing that happened that would amuse anyone over the age of 7. Among the only things I enjoyed was the relationship between Ratchet (James Arnold Taylor) and Clank (David Kaye), it felt authentic, and I think was probably one of the few things this movie had going for it.
I highly doubt even the fans of Ratchet and Clank would be satisfied with this movie adaptation, as it's basically like watching one large, boring cutscene from one of the games. In the end, "Ratchet and Clank" is better off just sticking to video games, as this movie is definitely not worth watching.
