Though not the most original movie ever created, it never claimed to be. Ratchet and Clank was a movie made for fans.

Just like the many fan movies that appear on YouTube, sparking dreams of a future franchise for whatever genre that particular cult following is a part of, this movie was designed to bring a beloved fan favorite to the big screen. Many people will hate this movie, some already do, but true fans will appreciate what this movie has brought to the general public.

The voice acting was incredible. The mixture of famous actors and voice actors, as well as the original actors coming through with absolute cinema-quality voice-acting, made this movie enjoyable to both watch and listen to. The subtle humor mixed throughout the silly slapstick, along with a humor that only those who played, loved, and obsessed the games would understand, made it meta enough for all to enjoy.

This small budget animated film was not without faults though. Occasionally, their lack of polishing made some scenes seem faulty or unfinished, but it also didn't have the monetary backing of the Pixar conglomerate that is behind all the big hitters.(Pixar is not without its faults either, they just know how to sweep their mistakes under a pile of money and a new movie every other week.) This movie was exactly what you should expect to see, when you decide to go see a video game-based movie.

I am an avid Ratchet and Clank fan. The games made portions of my life feel like I could really fire a Sheepinator or travel with a Mr Zurkon, and this movie brought that magic back for a solid 90 minutes. For all you haters out their, I feel saddened for you. This movie is fun, light and entertaining, especially if you love the Lombax with his Robotic Pal.
