Review of Ratcatcher (1999) by D.s. W — 07 Dec 2013
Ratcatcher shows restraint, but also real beauty, telling a story every bit as, if not more visually the narratively. This movie could've gone over the top and still probably would've worked, but instead we get a tempered yet passionate portrayal of poverty in Glasgow.
Coming of age stories ain't always pretty.
