Review of Ratatouille (2007) by Adam Z — 16 Jan 2013
A nice "realise your dreams" tale from Pixar that feels like it is aimed at the younger market though would probably need a bit of explaining to them due to some complexities of the plot. The story involves a French rat who dreams of becoming a chef and how he overcomes the obvious difficulties that stand in his way.
As with all Pixar movies, the animation is wonderful but there seem to be fewer of the verbal gags and knowing winks to the adult audience. A lot of the comedy is visual slapstick and I'm sure will have kids giggling but it's not really my cup of tea if I'm honest.
However an endearing lead character and engaging story made up these quibbles and I really quite enjoyed it.
