Review of Rasputin: The Mad Monk (1966) by Paul B — 23 Jul 2012
Christopher Lee is terrific and commanding as the title character, but the film surrounding him is rather lifeless. The production design and cinematography are good, though, and combined with Lee's work, they almost redeem the film.
The script, however, is just too dull and nondescript (something of a crime considering the film's crazy, real-life subject) to allow the movie to be entertaining.
