Review of Rashomon (1950) by Keith J — 22 Oct 2009
My first foray into the exciting world of Akira Kurosawa. Woo, film literacy. Rashomon is like Vantage Point if Vantage Point was a good, intelligent film. A single story told from several points of view, which made for a great narrative structure.
Who is telling the truth? Who should you believe? Excellent cinematography, and so many layers that itâ??s probably impossible to dissect in one sitting. Like I said, my first Kurosawa film, but not my last.
