Review of Rashomon (1950) by Justin F — 26 Mar 2009
Having seen the film twice it's easier to grasp yet still as interesting to consider. Memory has such a shaky and unreliable base and Kurosawa explores the ways in which an event is recalled to those involved.
An important film in many aspects that remains relevant and referenced throughout popular culture. And gotta love those axial cuts. Toshiro Mifune is unstoppable.
