Review of Rashomon (1950) by Ng H — 08 Aug 2009

This is easily one of my all time favorite films, and I?m not alone in my opinion. It?s an undisputed landmark and almost everything to say about it has already been said. It?s possibly one of the most ripped off movies of all time, hell, its been ripped off so much that one could call ?the Rashomon story? a standard, much the way song ?I?ve Got Rhythm? has been used so often as to make its origins as a George Gershwin show tune irrelevant.

Simply put, anyone who hasn?t seen this has no business calling themselves a film buff. I?ve maybe seen it a few too many times; I should probably give it a long rest before revisiting.
