Review of Rashomon (1950) by Andrew K — 26 Jan 2010

I had no knowledge of the movie coming into it and had only seen Akira Kurosawa's "Dreams" previously (rented 7 Samurai, but it was scratched). This movie is amazing! A strong study of human nature, it takes the notion of samurai honor and nobility and throws it ot the window, showing humans to be the animals we are.

I can't wait to watch more Kurosawa. I just wish I could afford the AK:100 box set...
