Review of Rashomon (1950) by Scott E — 15 Feb 2010
This was recommended to view by mt screenwriting teacher. I am glad he recommended it as I never would have watched it on my own. Released in 1950 it is remastered and showing at the Lagoon. They charged me nine frickin' dollars for a matinee, but that is not the movie's fault.
This is a good story, told with four very different points of view. I imagine this is the kind of Japanese film that makes Tarantino all wet. There are a few sword fights and a story of murder and betrayal.
Check it out if it is ever channel 9's Saturday movie or something like that, but I can think of a lot of better things to spend $9 on.
